Cisco anchors the southern edge of this West Texas landscape, where the street grid of the town center meets the campus of Cisco College. The terrain is defined by the drainage networks of the N Fork Leon River and the Middle Fork Leon River, flowing through a region of prominent mesas including Cedar Mtn and Flat Top Mtn. To the northwest, the waters of Lake Cisco and Twin Lake provide a sharp contrast to the surrounding scrub and ranch lands.

Local history is well-preserved through several rural burial grounds such as Oakwood Cem, Bedford Cem, and the Reagan Cem. The northeastern reach of the survey is notably marked by the Corinth Baptist Church Cem, illustrating the distributed nature of early settlement and community life in Eastland County. Transportation and infrastructure are represented by the Cisco Municipal Airport and a network of ranch roads that navigate the complex topography between Sandy Cr and E Sandy Cr.
