The village of Coloma serves as the central hub of this central Wisconsin landscape, situated along the north-south transport corridor. Further north lies the community of Hancock, where Hancock Cemetery and Deer Lake define the local topography. This 2018 survey documents a region where agricultural land is neatly divided by an extensive grid of roads such as Cottonville Ave and Buttercup Ave. Rural heritage is preserved in a series of family and community burial grounds scattered throughout the township, including Fish Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, and White Cemetery. The natural drainage of the area is represented by the intermittent flows of Dry Creek and Carter Creek, which cut through the level plains and seasonal wetlands near the border between Adams and Waushara counties.
