The Copper River and Bremner River dominate this wilderness corridor where several major protected lands converge. This 2024 survey captures the sprawling boundary between the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, the adjacent Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness, and the Chugach National Forest. The landscape is defined by vast river braids and the glacial runoff patterns characteristic of the Chugach Census Area, including the Nels Miller Slough. While largely inaccessible by road, the map identifies local routes such as the Heney Glacier Trl and Sherman Glacier Trl, which provide a sense of the primitive transportation network used to navigate the dramatic topography between these high peaks and the river valleys.
