The Niobrara National Scenic River carves a deep valley through the Nebraska sandhills along the border of Todd Co and Cherry Co. This protected corridor is anchored by the Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, where the river's flow is punctuated by significant water features such as Fort Falls and Tyler Falls. The landscape is a complex network of drainage, where Big Beaver Cr, Little Beaver Cr, and Crooked Cr feed into the primary river system from the surrounding highlands.
