Corral Butte and Big Peak anchor this section of the Montana badlands, overlooking a complex network of intermittent drainages. The landscape is defined by the erosional patterns of many named waterways, including the winding paths of Miles Creek, Mack Creek, and the curiously named E-2 Creek. These streams indicate a highly dissected terrain where seasonal water flow has carved distinct coulees and draws through the Prairie County soil.
