Craig Pass serves as a critical point of passage through the high-altitude terrain of Yellowstone National Park in the southern portion of the reserve. This landscape is defined by the Continental Divide, which zigzags through the eastern and central portions of the sheet, separating the drainage basins that feed various tributaries of the Snake and Yellowstone rivers. The northern shoreline of Shoshone Lake anchors the southern boundary, where the N Shore Shoshone Lake Trail meets the Delacy Creek Trail.
