Malheur National Forest encompasses the high country of Grant County, defined by a network of drainage systems and isolated springs. The topography is anchored by Sheep Mtn and Summit Rock, where the headwaters of numerous creeks begin their descent. A significant portion of this landscape is shaped by the North Fork Malheur Wild and Scenic River, which snakes through the eastern section of the quadrangle near Telephone Gulch.
