The Sopchoppy River and its numerous tributaries, including Monkey Cr and Lost Cr, define the drainage of this forested Wakulla County landscape. This 2012 survey shows the rural character of the region west of Crawfordville, where small communities such as Arran and Mount Pleasant are connected by a network of forest roads and local lanes. Cultural landmarks of genealogical importance are scattered throughout the quadrangle, including the Arran Cem, Pelt Cem, and Council Cem. Evidence of the area's industrial and lookout history is found at Lawhons Mill and the Pope Still Lookout Tower. The northern portion of the map is particularly notable for its timber and hunting connections, centered around Popes Still and the Popes Still Hunt Camp, while Mill Bay and Cypress Pond mark the low-lying terrain transitions typical of the Florida panhandle.
