The Big Blue River anchors this central Nebraska landscape, meandering south through a grid of section roads south of Crete. The river's serpentine path is flanked by the small settlements of Shestak and Kramer, the latter situated near the eastern edge of the quadrangle. This area in Saline County is defined by its agricultural layout and a series of water management features, including several reservoirs such as Salt Creek Reservoir 27-C and Teal Reservoir.
