Devils Postpile and the striking geologic formation of Crystal Crag define this high-elevation landscape in the eastern Sierra. The area is characterized by a high density of alpine lakes and thermal features, including Reds Meadow Hot Springs and Bell Hot Springs. The Middle Fork San Joaquin River serves as the primary drainage, carving through the terrain past Rainbow Falls and the granite heights of The Buttresses.
