Blindman Table and Red Shirt Table define the high, flat-topped landforms of this portion of Oglala Lakota County. These landforms are separated by the winding drainage of Cedar Creek, which flows through the western portion of the quadrangle. To the southeast, the landscape transitions toward Cuny Table, accessible by the prominent Cuny Table Rd. This area is characterized by the distinct plateaus typical of the region, where wide-open cattle ranges meet the northern edge of Badlands National Park. The survey illustrates the sparse road network and the reliance on these elevated tables for settlement and passage, including the drainage systems of Brush Creek that carve through the arid terrain between the elevated mesas.
