The Hocking River carves through the landscape of southeastern Ohio, winding past the village of Frost and under the elevation of Cubbison Ridge. This region is characterized by small rural settlements such as Cutler, Beebe, and Qualey, which are connected by a network of township roads and federal routes. Much of the northwestern corner is occupied by the Wayne National Forest, where steep ridges like Haga Ridge dominate the topography.
