The high plains of Campbell County are defined by a complex drainage network feeding into Bitter Cr and its various tributaries. This 2015 survey highlights the topographic relief of the Recluse Hills, where numerous named coulees and draws such as Rattlesnake Draw, Rosie Draw, and Timber Draw carve into the landscape. The namesake Dead Horse Lake sits in the southern portion of the map, fed by Dead Horse Cr near the junction of several section lines.
