Delano Peak anchors the high terrain of the northern Delano Mountains in this northeast Elko County survey. The landscape is defined by its drainage systems and vital water sources, including the drainage of Thousand Springs Cr through the southern half of the quadrangle. Several canyons cut through the uplands, such as Division Canyon and Twentyone Mile Canyon, illustrating the complex natural topography before it descends toward the flats. Modern access is represented by CR-765, which traverses the southern portion of the sheet. Water management and natural seeps are critical markers in this arid region, highlighted by the location of Indian Spring, Eighteen Mile Spring, and the 23-Mile Reservoir, which serve as the few named landmarks in this expansive basin and range territory.
