The Teton River meanders across the southern portion of this Chouteau County landscape, defining the local drainage patterns and topography. The river valley is flanked by a series of significant erosional features, most notably Dugout Coulee and the branching systems of Dry Fork Coulee and West Dry Fork Coulee. These coulees illustrate the drainage network feeding into the river, carving deep impressions into the surrounding high plains.
