About this map

Travis Air Force Base occupies the northern edge of this landscape, where the flatlands of the Central Sacramento Valley Valley meet the intricate tidal networks of the Suisun Marsh. The terrain is defined by the Potrero Hills and Kirby Hill, which rise above a labyrinth of waterways including Montezuma Slough, Nurse Slough, and Little Honker Bay. This 2021 survey illustrates the interface between modern expansion in Suisun City and Fairfield and the preserved wetland environments of Grizzly Island and Bradmoor Island. Genealogists and local historians can locate the Shiloh Cem along the eastern foothills of the Montezuma Hills, near the small settlements of Denverton and Rio Vista Junction. The map provides a detailed view of the regional infrastructure, from the suburban street grids in the northwest to the rural passages of Birds Landing Rd and Rio Vista Rd that cross the marshland.
