The Nevada Utah state line bisects this high-desert landscape, where the Clover Mountains dominate the northern terrain. In the eastern portion, within Washington County, the protected expanse of the Doc's Pass Wilderness preserves a network of steep drainages including Horse Canyon and East Bunker Peak Wash. This area is defined by its critical water sources, from the isolated Bracken Pond to the named flows of Rueben Spring and Betsy Spring.
