M c L e m o r e C o v e and the S h i n b o n e V a l l e y define this landscape along the border of Walker and Chattooga counties. The topography is dominated by the massive presence of Lookout Mountain and Pigeon Mtn, which create distinct geological features like Dougherty Gulf and Harrisburg Gulf. These deep gaps and coves have historically dictated the placement of small communities such as Harrisburg, Teloga, and Chelsea.
