About this map

Pahvant Valley dominates the western half of this Millard County landscape, showcasing the complex water management systems essential to this arid region. The Central Utah Canal cuts across the valley floor, supported by localized irrigation features like the East Fork Church Ditch. These man-made waterways contrast with the natural drainage patterns of Whisky Creek and Duggins Creek, which flow from the higher elevations to the east. To the east, the terrain rises sharply into the Church Mountains and the southwestern portion of the Fishlake National Forest. This transition from the flat agricultural potential of the valley to the steep, wooded canyons of Long Canyon and West Fork Eightmile Canyon illustrates the geographical divide between productive lowland basins and the protected forest highlands. Researchers will find notable landmarks including a Substation and a localized Gravel Pit near the mountain base.
