Pavant Valley serves as a stark landscape of water management and geological transitions in the early 1960s. The region is defined by a heavy reliance on subterranean resources, evidenced by the high density of Flowing Wells and individual Wells dotting the valley floor. To the east, the terrain rises sharply toward the prominence of Bald Mountain, while the southern reaches transition into the distinctive volcanic landscape of The Cinders and the low-lying drainage area known as The Sink.
