Moffett Cr and Cottonwood Cr carve a complex system of drainage across this section of the Klamath National Forest, or KNF, as it appeared in 2015. The landscape is defined by its deep canyons and named gulches, many of which bear titles reflecting the region's rugged history, such as Moonshine Gulch, Whiskey Gulch, and Beef Corral Gulch. High points like Piney Mtn and Antelope Mtn stand over a network of access roads, including Cottonwood Creek Rd and Scarface Rd.
