Georgica Pond and Hook Pond define the southern coastline of this East End community, where the Atlantic shoreline meets a landscape of established hamlets and residential paths. The Long Island railroad line cuts through the center of the terrain, connecting the village of East Hampton with Amagansett to the east and Wainscott to the west. This 2019 survey documents a high density of local heritage sites, including Cedar Lawn Cem, Round Swamp Cem, and North End Cem. The interior transition from the coastal beaches to the northern woodlands is marked by a network of historic trails and ways, such as Paumanok Path and Fosters Path, weaving between newer developments and preserved open spaces like Georgica Neck.
