Eastover serves as the primary hub in this low-lying landscape, where the town's grid meets the branching network of South Carolina's river bottoms. To the east, the Wateree River defines the border between Richland and Sumter counties, flanked by the dense, seasonally inundated terrain of the Wateree Swamp and White Marsh Swamp. The topographic transition is most evident at Cooks Mt, a distinct elevation rising above the surrounding wetlands and creek systems.
