Colville National Forest dominates this section of Ferry County, where a network of forest roads and hiking paths winds through high-elevation peaks. The long-distance Pacific NW National Scenic Trail traverses the southern half of the landscape, passing beneath the summits of Edds Mtn and Granite Mtn. This high-country drainage system is defined by the headwaters of several streams, including the N Fork O'Brien Cr, Middle Fork O'Brien Cr, and S Fork O'Brien Cr, which flow through the center of the survey area.
