2021 Map of El Mirage

USGS Topo · Published 2021

About this map

El Mirage and the surrounding high desert terrain along the Los Angeles and San Bernardino County line are documented in this recent survey. The landscape is defined by the expansive Antelope Valley and El Mirage Valley, punctuated by prominent geological rises like Black Mtn, Mt Elmo, and the distinct peaks of Three Sisters. A network of rural desert roads, including E Palmdale Blvd and El Mirage Rd, connects the scattered residences and small-scale developments typical of this part of the Mojave Desert. Water features are sparse but essential landmarks, including Eller Slough and the seasonal drainages of Mescal Creek and Le Montaine Creek. Of particular interest to aviation and local history is Gray Butte Field, situated centrally in the desert flats south of the county boundary.
