The South Fork Toutle River and its numerous tributaries dominate this high-elevation landscape in the Cascades of southwest Washington. The intricate drainage network of Harrington Cr, Whitten Cr, and Bear Cr flows through steep-sided valleys that characterize the northern section of the quadrangle. Further south, the terrain rises to notable peaks like Elk Mountain and Butler Butte, framing the headwaters of the Coweeman River and the N Fork Kalama River.
