Elk Peak stands as the central landmark in this 2014 survey of the high timberlands straddling the Douglas Co Coos Co line. The drainage patterns are defined by the W Fork Millicoma River and its numerous tributaries, including Kelly Creek and Joes Creek, which carve deep through the coastal range. At the southern edge of the quadrangle, Stulls Falls and Gould Lake offer notable hydrological features within the dense forest network.
