Fishlake National Forest dominates the western half of this Sevier County landscape, giving way to the irrigated agricultural lands of the Sevier Valley. The central corridor is defined by the Sevier River and a complex network of man-made waterways, including the Brooklyn Canal, Richfield Canal, Monroe Canal, and the Sevier Valley Canal. These systems trace the contours of the valley floor, supporting the settlements of Elsinore, Monroe, and Joseph.
