Little Lost River Valley provides a base for the steep ascent into the Lemhi Range, where drainage patterns from Uncle Ike Creek and Rocky Run Creek define the landscape. This area serves as a significant administrative boundary between the Challis National Forest and Targhee National Forest. Local history is preserved through the naming of various mining and travel routes, most notably the Uncle Ike Mines Trl and the Mormon Gulch Mines Trl, which indicate the region's historical extraction efforts near Mormon Gulch. Higher elevations are marked by seasonal features like Pass Cr Lake and numerous deep-cut ravines including Bunting Canyon and Boulder Canyon. The namesake Fallert Springs sits within this transition zone between the valley floor and the high mountain trails.
