Willamette National Forest lands dominate this late-twentieth-century landscape in Linn County, where timber management and natural hydrology define the local geography. The area is characterized by high-elevation landmarks such as Farmers Butte and Buck Mountain, while the massive Green Mountain Ridge divides the drainage basins of the north and south. Water flows through a complex system of drainages, including Wiley Creek and Little Wiley Creek, which eventually reach the Calapooia River in the southern portion of the quadrangle.

Several quarries scattered across the terrain indicate active industrial use of the mountain slopes during the 1990s. The presence of numerous 4wd and Private roads weaving through the forest suggests a working landscape utilized for both forestry and recreation. Notable natural features such as Cascada Falls and Doe Mtn highlight the transition from lower creek beds to the high peaks of the Cascade foothills.
