1964 Map of Florida

USGS Topo · Published 1967

About this map

The historic Butterfield Trail cuts across this high-desert landscape in Luna County, tracing a route that once carried mail and passengers across the Southwest. The 1960s terrain is defined by the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad, which runs parallel to the drainage of Mule Springs Creek. At the small settlement of Florida, the railroad and several local tracks converge near a series of drainage features including Fort Cummings Draw and Cooks Canyon.
