The town of Gackle occupies the southeastern corner of this map, situated right along the border between Stutsman County and Logan County. This rural prairie landscape is defined by an extensive network of small lakes and seasonal wetlands that punctuate the rolling terrain of the Missouri Coteau. These water bodies are so numerous they significantly dictate the layout of the section roads, such as 50th St SE and 60th Ave SE, which must navigate around the larger depressions.
