Port Oneida and Glen Arbor anchor this coastal landscape where the Sleeping Bear Dunes meet the Manitou Passage. Much of the shoreline is preserved within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, protecting a complex network of glacial features including Pyramid Point and Prospect Hill. The interior is dotted with small lakes such as Shell Lake, School Lake, and Fisher Lake, which drain toward the coast via Shalda Cr and the Crystal River.
