Greenland and Mass City anchor this portion of the Copper Country, where the landscape is defined by the headwaters of the Firesteel River and its branches. The terrain rises significantly at Adventure Mtn, overlooking a network of roads that follow the old industrial and mining patterns of Ontonagon County. Evidence of the area's local history is visible in the placement of Maple Grove Cem and Methodist Cem, located near the intersection of Plank Rd and Depot St.
