Griggs marks a high-plains settlement in the far northwestern corner of the Oklahoma panhandle, where the landscape is defined by the rigid geometry of the section line road system. The terrain here is part of a vast, high-altitude plateau, bisected by the county boundary between Cimarron Co and Texas Co. This 2016 survey illustrates a modern rural infrastructure of numbered and lettered county roads, such as Co Rd AA and Co Rd DD, which serve the agricultural interests of the region.
