Haberstock Hill and Smith Hill overlook a desert landscape defined by a network of ephemeral watercourses in this 2012 survey of Cochise County. The terrain is etched by seasonal flows such as Slavin Wash, Escalante Wash, and Clifford Wash, which together direct the infrequent drainage of the high desert. Settlement is concentrated in the southern portion of the quadrangle, where a rectilinear grid of local roads including W Rainbow Rd and E Fuller Ranch Rd marks modern rural development.
