Glacial topography and numerous prairie potholes define this landscape in eastern Polk County. The Sand Hill River meanders across the southern half of the sheet, carving a path toward the settlement of Rindal in the southeast corner. This watercourse is accompanied by distinct drainage features like Garden Slough and Kittleson Cr, while large basins such as Halverson Lake, Maple Lake, and Cable Lake dominate the northern terrain.
