Agricultural lands along the Washington County and Marshall County line are defined by a dense network of watercourses and section-line roads. The southwest corner of the map is dominated by the winding path of the Little Blue River, which is joined by several tributaries including Knedlik Creek and Bolling Creek. The landscape transitions from these river lowlands to the higher, rolling terrain of the northern and eastern sections, where the drainage basins of Walnut Creek, Cedar Creek, and Mountain Creek have carved distinct valleys through the prairie.
