The Harquahala Mountains dominate this high-desert terrain along the boundary of La Paz and Maricopa counties. The southern edge is traced by the corridor of Eagle Eye Rd, providing modern access to this largely uninhabited area of the Sonoran Desert. These canyons, such as Blue Tank Canyon and West Fork Sunset Canyon, illustrate the critical importance of seasonal water flow and springs in an arid environment.
