The Seven Devils Mountains dominate this high-elevation landscape on the border of the Nez Perce National Forest and Payette National Forest. Dramatic peaks with evocative names like He Devil, She Devil, the Tower of Babel, and Mt Belial overlook a complex network of alpine basins containing the Hanson Lakes, Bernard Lakes, and Lower Cannon Lake. The terrain is marked by sharp ridges such as Dry Diggins Ridge, which formerly hosted the Dry Diggins L O lookout station.
