Heber City and the surrounding Heber Valley are shown here as they prepared for the world stage, with the Deer Valley Resort (2002 Olympics Site) prominently marked on the western slopes of the Wasatch Range. The landscape is defined by its deep mining roots and its modern water infrastructure, featuring the large expanse of the Jordanelle Reservoir to the north and the historic operations at the Ontario Mine and Mayflower Mine. In the valley floor, the agricultural heritage of the region is evident in the intricate network of irrigation, including the Wasatch Canal and Westside Ditch.
