The Snake River carves a deep path through this portion of eastern Idaho, defining the boundary between the Targhee National Forest to the north and the rising peaks of the Caribou Range to the south. This rugged landscape is marked by high-altitude plateaus and distinct geographical landmarks such as Kelly Mtn and Rattlesnake Point.
