Drake and the historic Cedar Glade Cem anchor the northwestern edge of this landscape, where the high desert plateau begins its descent toward the Verde River. Much of the terrain is defined by the protected boundaries of the Prescott National Forest, characterized by a complex network of canyons and washes including Bear Canyon, Bull Basin Canyon, and Muldoon Canyon.
