Holdman and its surrounding canyonlands in Umatilla County are defined by a complex network of seasonal drainages and local farm roads. The landscape is deeply incised by Cold Springs Canyon and its many branches, including Middle Fork Cold Springs Canyon and South Fork Cold Springs Canyon. These geographic features dictate the winding paths of rural routes like S Cold Springs Rd and Bissinger Rd, which serve the high plateaus between the gulches.
