Horseshoe Dam anchors this stretch of the Verde River north of Phoenix, regulating the water flow that creates the expansive Horseshoe Reservoir at the top of the map and feeds into the northern edge of Bartlett Reservoir below. Located within the Tonto National Forest, the landscape is defined by its arid drainage systems, including Davenport Wash and Indian Spring Wash, which cut through the high desert terrain.
