Coconino Plateau terrain dominates this northern Arizona landscape, characterized by high-elevation mesas and seasonal drainage systems. The topography is defined by significant features such as Howard Mesa and the elevated Vickery Ridge, while lower sections include the expansive LO Flat and LO Draw. These landforms dictate the flow of ephemeral water through Horse-Trap Canyon and into Red Lake Wash, eventually reaching the seasonal waters of Red Lake.
