The Salish Mountains define this high-country landscape on the border of Flathead and Lake Counties. Central to the area is the Hog Heaven Range, a prominent uplift that hosts the Hog Heaven Lookout Tower. To the south, the terrain descends toward Deep Draw and Sullivan Gulch, where the Irvine Lookout Tower stands as a secondary sentinel over the drainage systems. The small settlement of Niarada sits at the western edge of the quadrangle along the state highway, serving as a primary point of human activity in an otherwise topographic-dominated region. Seasonal hydrology is marked by the winding courses of White Earth Cr and Cromwell Cr, while Big Draw cuts through the northeast, illustrating the complex erosion patterns that have shaped this portion of northwestern Montana.
