Johnson Trading Post serves as a primary landmark in this section of the Eastern Navajo Agency, situated near the intersection of the Ojo Encino Rd and the broad drainage of the San Isidro Wash. The landscape is characterized by a series of prominent mesas and water sources that have historically supported seasonal habitation and livestock in this arid region. High points such as Eagle Mesa and Fork Rock Mesa rise above the surrounding valleys, while Mesa Penistaja and the Ceja Pelon Mesa define the northern limits of the quadrangle.
