This specific partnership highlights the importance of the uranium-rich carnotite deposits found throughout the region during the early Cold War era. Resource extraction is evident at the Depression Mines and Maverick Mines on Flat Top Mesa, as well as the Copper Rivet Mine in the southern portion of the quadrangle.
