Sawtooth National Forest dominates this mountain landscape, where the South Fork Boise River flows westward through the northern reaches. This 2017 study illustrates a network of steep drainages and high peaks, including Jumbo Mtn on the Elmore and Camas county line. Remote access is provided by the Natl Forest Develop Road 227 RD, which follows the river valley and serves as a corridor for the South Fork Ranch Airport.
